William H. Overholt is Director, RAND Center for Asia Pacific
Policy; Center for Asia Pacific Policy Chair in Asia Policy
Research. Prior to Rand, he was a Managing Director at Bankers Trust
and Chief Asia Strategist at Nomura in Hongkong.

He will provide an overview of his book, focusing on the
consequences of the current management of the US-Japan Alliance on
the rest of Asia and Japan itself and on his views of China's future
course. Following his presentation, there will be a discussion with
the audience.
